Adult Classes
- BIRD CARVING - INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED
Carve and paint a bird in an antique style, emphasizing the essence of the bird/habitat. We will use mostly hand tools, and some power tools as needed. You will need a carving knife and strop, which may be borrowed or purchased from the instructor. A $30 fee payable to instructor covers all supplies.

- CHAIR SEAT RESEATING: CANE, FIBRE RUSH, AND SPLINT
Reseat your antique or modern chair with cane, splint, or fiber rush. Don't remove the seat, as we may want to duplicate the pattern. Supplies available at the first class: $15 per chair seat.

- Mars - The Demon Planet
Mars, our neighboring planet, has long been the subject of lore and legend. Join us as we explore our neighbor, from spectacular photos of the first missions in the 1970s to the amazing accomplishments of today's Mars rovers. We will use the planetarium's observatory, weather permitting, to observe Mars.

- SPECTACULAR SKIES OF SUMMER
Planets, meteor showers, aurora, star clusters, and stellar nurseries in the Milky Way—all are part of the superb array of celestial splendors visible on clear summer nights. We will explore the summer sky and the incredible wonders it holds. Weather permitting, we’ll also visit the rooftop observatory to observe the planets.

- Star Gear - Telescopes and Binoculars
Today, anyone can obtain powerful and sophisticated astronomical equipment at a reasonable cost. We will study the fundamentals of optics in a practical, non-technical format. Through equipment demonstrations and hands-on exploration, we'll examine types of telescopes, their merits and costs, as well as accessories. Weather permitting; we'll visit the planetarium's rooftop observatory.

- SUNDAY MORNING BICYCLING
Enjoy a 25-30 mile ride in the country. We meet at various locations and stop for a sociable breakfast (cost not included) at about halfway. Recommended for bikers at an advanced beginner or higher level. Helmets are required.

- TUESDAY EVENING BICYCLE RIDES
Enjoy six idyllic, 12–18 mile rides. We start at a different location each week and we socialize during and after the rides. Helmets are required.
